"A Rat! There's a rat in my soup!"

I'm not sure who had the most fun on Friday. Nancy and I had a lot of fun planning this day. The Pre-K kids and I have been reading The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo so I thought that we might celebrate the book (we aren't quite finished yet) since there was no school on Friday.

The kids, and us adults, dressed up. Nancy was the king, Delia was the queen, Katrina was the Princess Pea (no one was a mouse or rat), and the children dressed up as knights and ladies.
In the morning we made mouse masks (see previous post) and watched the movie Despereaux.

For lunch a couple people had a little surprise in their soup! There was a rat in their soup! We also drank our milk out a fancy goblets and wore our dress up clothes at the table.

At nap we read more of Despereaux and have finally passed through the flash backs in the book. We are looking forward to see how the movie and the book differ with the ending.
