Loving my Baby

Under the Couch

When we put the couch in the baby room I said to my Mom: "I wonder how long it will take one of the babies to get under the couch, and I wonder who it will be." Well, I didn't need to wait too long, about three days!
After I pulled him out he was back under it in ten minutes! Too funny! What a silly guy!

Center Hill

Today we went to Center Hill in Weld for a hike. There was quite a line of cars driving up the long winding hill to the parking area. Miss Kelly gave us some instructions to be careful and we were off! The first thing we looked at was the giant Octopus Tree. We climbed over and under it while our parents and caregivers took our pictures! Miss Kelly told us to keep our eyes open for numbers on the trail. We only found numbers 2, 4, and 8 because we were too busy climbing to look for numbers! Our first stop was at the rock out crop that had lots of places to climb. We spent a lot of time up there climbing the rocks and beingg silly. A Nana showed us squirrel tables and we picked through their left over acorn shells. We finished our hike and had a quick snack of pretzels and juice before heading home. We had a really great time.

Delia asked us what our favorite part was:

"I liked finding the numbers."
"I liked the squirrel tables."

Kitchen Helper

Today I helped out in the kitchen. Delia needed to make some lunch for everybody and I wanted to be with Delia. Delia said to me, "Sweetie, do you want to help?" She got out my high chair and put it next to the counter. Then she gave me a carrot stick, a cucumber slice, a chunk of pear, and a plastic knife so that I could do my own cutting.
It was so great to be included! I was happy and content while Delia did her work.

"A Rat! There's a rat in my soup!"

I'm not sure who had the most fun on Friday. Nancy and I had a lot of fun planning this day. The Pre-K kids and I have been reading The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo so I thought that we might celebrate the book (we aren't quite finished yet) since there was no school on Friday.

The kids, and us adults, dressed up. Nancy was the king, Delia was the queen, Katrina was the Princess Pea (no one was a mouse or rat), and the children dressed up as knights and ladies.
In the morning we made mouse masks (see previous post) and watched the movie Despereaux.

For lunch a couple people had a little surprise in their soup! There was a rat in their soup! We also drank our milk out a fancy goblets and wore our dress up clothes at the table.

At nap we read more of Despereaux and have finally passed through the flash backs in the book. We are looking forward to see how the movie and the book differ with the ending.
